Girl in Reds’ presence in this Melbourne winter is exactly what we needed- her new album ‘I’m Doing It Again Baby!’ was an absolute must to see live at Margaret Court Arena last Wednesday.  

When I saw that Pisco Sour and The Noise were doing a gig together at Northcote Social Club on Kings B-day Eve- I couldn’t hide my excitement. I quickly texted my best friend and music photographer Chloe - ‘OH MY GOD IT’S PISCO AND THE NOISE- this is the dream team! We have to go!’

The Night Cat is already such a vibe as a venue – the funky décor of the vintage lamps gives an ambient red glow across the space and really creates an intimate environment. It’s already well known for its electric atmosphere and crazy moshes so I knew I was in for a ride when I saw the Belair Lip Bombs were going to play there before they set off to Europe.

I’m still on a high from last night, dancing around to ‘Secret’ in my kitchen on this glorious Sunday morning, wishing I had long, pink mermaid hair and that my house was completely luminescent. What a time the Secret PRC Tour was!

It’s a return to her established sound, carrying on the intelligent restraint of her previous album I Know I’m Funny haha with her trademark so-subtle-you-don’t-always-notice-it’s-so-cutting, self-deprecating edge that should appeal to fans new and long-time. If by the time someone is halfway through album opener Thinking About You, they aren’t on board with Webster’s way of storytelling, when the six-and-a-half-minute track finally finishes, they should have gotten the point - …
