EP REVIEW: ‘KIDS’ BY PISCO SOUR

Pisco Sours new EP ‘Kids’ showcases the bands diverse musical range and their ability to evolve as a band whilst staying true to their Aussie-Rock roots.

‘Kids’ is truly beautiful – it feels like a crisp spring morning captured in a tune. It has this optimistic and simultaneously nostalgic vibe to it, particularly through Nich’s mellow vocals coupled with the groovy bass riff and jangly guitar chords.

Lead singer Nich Marchese says of Kids:

"'Kids’ follows the story of two first-time lovers. Enamoured of each other, but still juvenile, the topic of the future and what it may bring becomes regular discourse.

The song takes place in two separate periods, starting with conversations at the beginning of their relationship, before moving to conversations of long-term lovers. At the start of their relationship, conversations about having children, getting married and growing old together cause a fear of moving too fast. But as their relationship grows and their love matures, everything they once discussed as kids themselves becomes a reality."

The Bonus Track ‘Voice Mail’ is classically Pisco Sour. Gritty, sexy, rock ‘n’roll. It opens with an Italian Nona yelling over the microphone, followed by harsh electric guitar rhythm and beat. Nichs raw, raspy vocals and the catchy melody create an addictively electrifying listening experience.
