Moving to 100% virtual and 100% free this year, BIGSOUND 2020 gets ready to go live in your living rooms, laptop screens, and office spaces from tomorrow on Wednesday October 21st and Thursday 22nd, bringing together a stacked conference program of keynote presentations, panels, workshops, performances and parties covering a wide range of topics and discussions aiming to re-future a challenged industry with positivity, connection and reality.

The much-anticipated The BIGSOUND50 and conference program have been revealed today, as the 100% virtual and 100% free online BIGSOUND 2020 gets ready to go live in your living rooms, laptop screens, and office spaces on October 21st and 22nd.

BIGSOUND 2020 has dropped the mic on its first (and hopefully last) ever 100% virtual program on October 21 and 22, bringing together a stacked first announcement of keynote presenters to lead a program to re-future a challenged industry with positivity, connection and reality.

With ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and domestic border closures, BIGSOUND 2020 will now move to be a free virtual event, allowing and creating new opportunities for Australian artists and industry to connect with each other and the international music community from their own homes and workspaces.

Angie McMahon is thrilled to announce the release of her recently performed Piano Salt EP, due for release on Friday 2 October 2020, and that she is one of the recipients of the Levi’s Music Prize, in partnership with BIGSOUND, amongst some brilliant company.

BIGSOUND is pleased to announce that it will proceed in 2020 with a revised program of conference, live music and parties, ensuring that its long-standing role of providing forward thinking, listening, learning, discovering and most importantly industry connection for the music community, is not lost due to COVID-19.

Brimming with honesty and openness in their songwriting, Sydney’s Johnny Hunter approaches a brand new year announcing their debut EP, Early Trauma. From it, the band shares it’s captivating single ‘Try As You May’, an emphatic release that will further cement the five-piece as one of 2020’s breakthrough bands.

Making the leap from bedroom artist to knockout performer just last year, Stellie is a young Adelaide artist on the cusp of bigger things. Inspired by strong female voices, her tender and personal tales are indie-pop slow-burners that cut straight to the heart.

The Lazy Eyes are a Sydney four-piece who create prismatic, sprawling psychedelic rock. ‘Cheesy Love Song’ is the lead single from their debut EP, the first of a number of releases over the coming year. Listen and watch HERE.

Today Gold Coast-based rapper Saint Lane shares his latest single, ‘Hickeys,’ his first new music of 2020. Of the track, Lane says: “Hickeys is about moving in circles. Working the same job, going to the same bars and seeing the same people every weekend. Getting caught in the loop and wanting to break free. Seeing some people around you break that loop and seeing some people stay in it.”
