AL PARKINSON SHARES NEW SINGLE ‘YOU LOOK GOOD IN BLUE’
+ ANNOUNCES INTIMATE SHOW AT MELBOURNE FLORIST
Al Parkinson describes her genre as Happy/Sad. After a few years of waltzing around life, the Melbourne based songwriter returns with a charming new single titled ‘You Look Good In Blue’ and announces an intimate show at a Melbourne Florist. Produced by longtime friend, Jono Steer (Ainslie Wills, Angie McMahon, Gretta Ray), the track is about memories being attached to scent - and is the first of a string of releases Al has planned.
“It’s when you don’t think of someone for a while and then you’re walking through the city or sitting on a train and you smell that person and the memory of them. It’s not clear, it’s cloudy but it slowly pieces together.” says Al.
Al is no stranger to the live music scene in Australia having played all over the country, numerous festivals (Queenscliff Music Festival, Nannup, New Years Eve on the Hill) and supported some of her favourite musicians including Angie McMahon, The Teskey Brothers, Gretta Ray, Mia Dyson and David Ryan Harris (USA) to name a handful.
You can find Al on stage with her three backing singers, ‘the babes’, her electric guitar and occasionally a ukulele comes out from time-to-time. She’s a little deep, a bit spicy and sweet - pretty much what you want out of an all-you-can-eat musical buffet.
To celebrate the release of ‘You Look Good In Blue’, Al will be playing an intimate show at Thrive Flowers in Collingwood on Wednesday the 4th of December. Al is excited for everyone to be surrounded by flowers and apologises in advance for those with hay fever.
