FULL POWER HAPPY HOUR ANNOUNCE SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM, OUT MARCH 19
"['Old Mind Of Mine'] is a sublime sample of sun-dappled indie-pop. There’s a spaciousness to it – a roomy vibe afforded to the languid strum, delicate pitter-patter of the percussion and smooth vocal delivery. When vocalist Alex Campbell sighs about getting away from the noise of the city in favour of a more serene setting, I empathise with all of my being."
- Weirdo Wasteland
"Sumptuous The Clean style jangle with added smoky, modern day Australiana. Fans of anything Dunedin and Triple J may have just found a new Aussie (Brisbane) favourite !!!"
- Janglepop Hub
"a real lovely jangly, country leaning jam to get you swaying along in the arvo sun."
- Declan Byrne - Home & Hosed
"...sun-kissed folk rock with great melodies. You can tell that it's summer in Australia."
- We Love That Sound
Meanjin/Brisbane indie-folk/alt-country five-piece Full Power Happy Hour have announced their self-titled debut album, due for release on Friday 19 March and coinciding with launch shows in Melbourne, Ballarat and Brisbane.
With a live show already renowned for its gripping four-part vocal harmonies and goodtime ragtag gang vibe, Full Power Happy Hour have translated this laidback appeal into the recorded realms with a collection of songs shining the spotlight fairly and squarely on the indubitable songwriting and vocal talents of frontwoman Alex Campbell.
Lead single 'Old Mine Of Mine' has already garnered plenty of airplay on community radio in Australia - coming in at #47 on 4ZZZ's Hot 100 poll for 2020 - as well as gaining some early international traction as well.
Full Power Happy Hour is due for release (LP/CD/digital) on Friday 19 March through Coolin' By Sound / Redeye Worldwide.
