Produced by Scott Horscroft with Joji Malani (Gang Of Youths), the song was written when Collins was reckoning with the end of a relationship, and those in her orbit were more focused on throwing their opinion into the ring or partaking in hurtful gossip - instead of offering support or understanding.

“Runway” comes as the second single from Patches Paradise, following his debut “Fever” in 2018 which was praised by triple j tastemakers Declan Byrne and Dave Ruby Howe who described it as, “Spiraling indie dance stuff from this up and comer. It glistens like the crystal waters of a tropical destination.”

"High & Glow" pushes boundaries for the band, who credit producer and collaborator Chris Lalic (Windwaker) for helping guide Days Like These into a more refined space and encouraged an exploration of different guitar tuning, song structure and tonal effects. "We were unsure about this song and how it would turn out in the end, but as we were putting the finishing touches on it we all agreed that we were extremely stoked on it" says vocalist Callen Batson.

The new single, Second Hand Band, is evocative of the Aussie pub rock greats – AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, The Angels – but with a modern, unique Avalanche spin. The listener can hear the years of practice, passion and grind that has gone into this project, and anyone who has ever dreamt of a life as a musician will relate to the subject matter behind this heavy, gritty romp.
