CELEBRATING THE NEW ALBUM AT LAUNCH SHOWS ACROSS AUSTRALIA
Canberra's Hands Like Houses have today released their incredible new album 'A T M O S P H E R I C S' via Civilians, which Rock Sound calls "their most ambitious project yet" and "a masterclass in soaring melodies and anthemic choruses". The band announced three intimate album launch shows to celebrate, kicking off this weekend, featuring exclusive early documentary screenings and re-imagined renditions in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. Tickets on sale now!
"Atmospherics is an album built from many life lessons and experiences. A big part of this is the fact that no one thought it would ever exist. The creative environments of the past had been clouded by so many obstacles but now, there’s a fresh start to start redefining what it means to be a band again. It’s a terrifying thing but beautiful nonetheless. ln reality, we’re all figuring out things as we go but we’ve been able to access the excitement, chaos and unpredictable creativity that comes with approaching our process with love and wonder.
Everything we do feels like it’s under a magnifying glass, especially with the way our culture has shifted and the way we digest everything. Different perspectives become thrown into a narrative that perhaps should just be between the artist, but we are focused on one thing: Our own journey, our own expression, our atmosphere. It’s our largest project to date, and the start of a very exciting time for us. We are thankful for everyone following along, and all our collaborators, family and team for their support. We hope you enjoy, it’s very much just the beginning." says the band.
Made up of four Volumes; Tropo(sphere), Strato(sphere), Meso(sphere) and Thermo(sphere), 'A T M O S P H E R I C S' has allowed Hands Like Houses to build and shape themselves into a new version, led by the charismatic frontman Josh Raven. The album is about learning how to fly again, on their own terms refreshed and as an independent band. Hands Like Houses started writing songs with friends and mentors as a way to explore ways to make the project feel more like a collective. It was at this time they reconnected with Josh Raven (The Faim), and although they had recorded tracks with metalcore legend Aaron Gillespie (Underoath, The Almost) on Better Before, then also The Getaway Plan for Paradise and Obey feat Kellin Quinn, it was Josh they formed a magical connection with and have now formed Hands Like Houses a-new.
Hands Likes Houses inject a fresh dose of modern stadium rock into Australia’s thriving alternative scene. The band has achieved 2 x Top 10 ARIA charting albums, over 130,000 album sales and 230 million Spotify streams. The five-piece – comprised of Josh Raven (vocals), Alexander Pearson (guitar), Joel Tyrrell (bass), Matt Cooper (guitar), Matthew Parkitny (drums) – have thrilled audiences around the world with their dynamic live performances, sharing arena stages with heavyweights such as Bring Me The Horizon and A Day To Remember at home, to performing internationally alongside legendary acts including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice Cooper and Disturbed, on Download Festival and Rock on the Range to name a few.
