"If you fancy yourself a bit of Polish Club or Gang of Youths, STUMPS might just be your new fave band." - TRIPLE J UNEARTHED

STUMPS ponder the poignant and timely question in their new single ‘Mt. Pleasant’. Singer Kyle Fisher penned the lyrics and explained, “They came during a particularly drunken, self-loathing night where the idea of self-love seemed an unattainable paradise.” The single, which premiered on triple j, comes with a new video and the announcement of a 3rd Sydney show added to their east coast tour.
Fisher elaborates, “I wanted the lyrics to be as open to interpretation as possible and looking back, I feel this somewhat allowed me to be more open than I intended. The title ‘Mt. Pleasant’ refers to the street on which Merrick, our bassist, grew up. The street is at the top of quite a daunting hill, and it served as a metaphor for the seemingly unreachable summit of self-love I was, and still am, striving for.”
STUMPS have built a loyal fanbase over the last couple of years, winning audiences over nationally, via their own headline shows, festival slots and supports for the likes of Trophy Eyes, Dear Seattle and Maddy Jane.
STUMPS take to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane throughout September and October. All tour dates are pre-COVID capacity and subject to change.
