The Heavy Part I Tour will see the prolific young artist on a true national tour with shows in both metro regional centres beginning at Melbourne’s The Night Cat, taking in Wollongong, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Newcastle as well as taking to the stage at Queensland’s Big Pineapple Festival. General public tickets will be available Friday 7 May from 12:00noon AEST.
Undoubtedly excited to be returning to the stage, CXLOE gushes, “I’m so stoked to be finally touring my debut EP Heavy Part I! I feel so lucky we get to play live music in Australia and can't wait to play these songs that I’ve been sitting with for so long.”
In tandem with the tour news, CXLOE has today revealed new music is on the very near horizon, announcing that her first single for 2021 'Cry & Drive' will be released next Thursday 6 May. With more details to be revealed next week, ‘Cry & Drive’ stands as the first track to be taken from the body of work to follow Heavy Part I and sees CXLOE stepping into an honest vulnerability in a way she has not leaned fully into before. “The Heavy Tour will be the first time I get to play my new single 'Cry & Drive' so I’m really excited for everyone to see a different side of me and my music, “ she explains. “The song is vulnerable and sonically unlike anything I’ve put out before.”
In celebration of the release of ‘Cry & Drive’, CXLOE will perform a strictly exclusive release party on Thursday 6 May at Sydney’s Phoenix Gallery for select fans. Those eager to see CXLOE perform in one of her most intimate settings to date can sign up at CXLOE.com between now and Tuesday 4 May (6:00pm AEST) to be in the running to win tickets to this unique event.
On Heavy Part I, CXLOE defined herself both personally and artistically with the adoption of a dual experience. On the EP, she showcased two distinct personas - CXLOE and Chloe. CXLOE is characterised by darkness, complexity, depth, sharpness and extremes while Chloe is warm, organic, vulnerable, wholesome, and stripped-back. Across it’s six tracks including ‘12 Steps’, ‘One and Lonely’, ‘Heavy’ and ‘Swing’, the two sides of CXLOE’s personality were permitted to shine allowing the young artist a chance to understand herself more fully.
CXLOE wanders between alternative and electronic, with a unique pop sensibility to creating a sound all her own. A pure musical aesthetic met with complex and dark lyrics brings a true contrast to her artistry. To date, CXLOE has amassed more than 50 million streams, over 6 million of which come from the USA. Support and critical acclaim has seen CXLOE receive enviable international attention across countless global playlists including over 50 global New Music Fridays on Spotify, airplay and coverage from triple j, all pop-leaning commercial radio stations across Australia and across global titles such as Billboard, CLASH, The Line Of Best Fit, LADYGUNN, V Magazine, Refinery29, VOGUE Australia, and countless more.
‘Cry & Drive’ grants CXLOE permission to take the next step in her journey. Keep your ear to the ground next Thursday 6 May for its release.
