These New South Whales today share their first taste of new music in 2021 with their single, 'Remote Control'.

Listen and watch HERE.

Of the track, the band share, “We wrote and recorded this track in a brief period of time between the two Melbourne lockdowns, alongside our last single, ‘Broken System’. The lyrics are subconscious musings on lockdown and isolation, and the collective sense of fear and confusion. I found it quite perplexing that people who were ordinarily quite distrusting and critical of the government were so quick to fall in line, and vice versa.”

'Remote Control' follows a triumphant year for These New South Whales, the self-proclaimed multi-media conglomerate who in 2020, released new music, launched their own podcast, a second TV series, and an affiliate-status Twitch channel, all while going viral on TikTok. Their most recent single 'Broken System' drew praise from the likes of NMEDIYThe Line Of Best Fittriple jFBi Radio, and more, with sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne capping off a defiantly successful year.

Outside of music, their podcast 'What A Great Punk' featured a range of guests including Glenn Robbins (Kath & KimRussell Coight’s All Aussie Adventures), Linda Mariglianno, Toby Cregan of SkegssShameRoger O'Donnell from The Cure and Stella Donnelly amongst many more. Its popularity soared, landing in the top five most popular music podcasts of the year on Spotify. Their late-night television debut on TNSW Tonight! saw the group give Pelvis (and Jamie) the sack, destroy a birthday cake with Japanese punk band CHAI, write a hit song with a Frank Sinatra impersonator, have an awkward harmonica battle with DMA’S, and enraged an army of teen Phoebe Tonkin stans who took to the band's socials by the thousands to seek revenge/exact justice/avenge their queen.

As the universe of These New South Whales continues to evolve and paint new corners of their detailed world, the groundbreaking creatives continue to shock, surprise and delight their fans with each unexpected step. Stay tuned as they continue to push the boundaries of possibility further and further with more new music, more TNSW Tonight! specials and rumours of the return of their eponymous Comedy Central program’s third season.
