Terra have been growing their presence in the Australian alternative scene as they've delivered their catchy, explosive and wound-opening pop-rock/ alt-rock that bleeds raw emotion.

They are now stripping that sound back with their new 3-track acoustic EP, 'Into Deep Blue' (Out May 29) featuring the brand new single, 'Song For Maddie' and acoustic versions of previously released singles 'Confidence' and 'Breaking'.

Mid last year, Terra released 'Confidence feat. David De La Hoz' that landed on Spotify's New Music Friday and Rock Out playlists, as well as seeing support from Don't Bore UsTriple JUnearthed and more.

Since they've performed at UNIFY Gathering 2020 (AM//PM) and have supported the likes of Ocean GroveYours TrulySkillet (US)The Beautiful MonumentSlowly SlowlyRedHookSienna SkiesThe Maine, Storm The Sky and many more.

Now, to begin the plunge into this intimate and asphyxiating EP is their new single 'Song For Maddie'. This emotive, finger-picked acoustic track has Cassie Sutton passionately crying out with her poised and enthralling vocal tone.

The intoxicating lyrical sentiments are accented by the accompaniment of backing vocalist Rosie Handley, the mandolin (Steve Cannatelli) and string section all of which gently add to the tenderness of this heart-wrenching track.

Sutton explains the meaning behind 'Song For Maddie':

"This song is deeply personal and is written from experience, but it’s also dedicated to anyone who feels like they're in a dark place. In these situations it’s easy to feel like a burden, so we wanted to send a reassuring message to listeners: the people that love you and care about you want you to ask for help and not suffer alone."

To follow, Terra reimagined their previously released heavier pop-rock/ alt-rock tracks, 'Breaking' and 'Confidence'.

While trying to maintain the identity of these songs, they spent time on trying to explore new ideas and voicings that provided more depth that was not heard on the original tracks. The stripped backed nature of these acoustic tracks innately speaks to the searing lyricism that is forefronted by Sutton's vocal prowess.

This acoustic EP, 'Into Deep Blue' is officially out everywhere on Friday, May 29.
