TEISCHA REVEALS STRIKING LIVE VIDEO FOR ‘SILENCE’ FROM RECENT PROJECT ‘MOMENTARY’
“there's something innately universal about Teischa’s music, an ability to reach out and connect across entire oceans” - Clash Magazine
"Over eight tracks, Teischa brought together productions that intertwine percussive electronica and comforting R&B to create something in between, while her vocal (...) swirls in and out; the crossroads of sounds meeting at a place that's distinctly Teischa, and incredibly good” - Pilerats
TEISCHA today reveals a standalone live visual for standout track ‘silence’, taken from her widely praised mixtape and visualiser momentary. The piece finds Teischa in front of a bare wall, black t-shirt, microphone in hand, lit only by a wall projector displaying reels from momentary and the lyrics of ‘silence’ laid bare on her face and body.
Continuing a newfound creative freedom, ‘silence’ was directed and shot by Teischa herself, much like momentary and the recently released cover videos of 6LACK, Frank Ocean & Alicia Keys. It’s a visual manifestation of ‘silence’ which simply allows a transparency on the lyrics to shine in all their exposure, permitting Teischa a moment to revel in their sensitivity and sincerity.

Over the past three weeks, while the world has been allowing momentary to deeply soak in, Teischa has wasted no time in keeping her creativity flowing, treating us to two incredible mash-up covers. The first was her take on Frank Ocean’s ‘Swim Good’ x Alicia Keys’ ‘Unthinkable’ following up with 6lack’s ‘Worst Luck’ x ‘One Way’. Both covers enlisted young Perth artist Dxpth who lent his vocals and guitar skills.
Across eighteen minutes, eight tracks and a self-directed visualiser, momentary offers a raw and real insight into Teischa’s life across the past two years. Using her distinctive brand of smoky R&B infused future pop, momentary is an evocative journey through a scrapbook of previously released songs, rough recordings from past travels and raw voice note demos, layered over additional production by some of Australia’s most prolific producer exports: Lucianblomkamp (6LACK), Konstanin Kersting (Tones & I), Sam Sakr (Dua Lipa) and Carl Dimataga (Khalid).
The creation of momentary came about during 2019, a year Teischa describes as one of the most challenging of her life and career. “I was feeling constantly knocked down, misunderstood, lonely and lost, so I hibernated and made music while dealing with the most challenging personal situations I’ve encountered,” she explains. To Teischa, momentary represents a young artist taking back her power. “I decided to take everything into my own hands. to stop leaning on people and trusting people to have my back and to rely solely on myself and my music,” she declares, “So with this project I cut out the bullshit. It’s a piece of me with nothing and nobody in between.”
After spending the past few years releasing several, critically-acclaimed singles, performing at festivals such as Splendour in the Grass and Primavera (Barcelona) and supporting Everything Everything and Toro y Moi in Los Angeles, Teischa has since found a new calm in her life back home in Fremantle, sparking a refreshing ownership over her music, production and songwriting - as is clear throughout momentary.
