The Faction is teaming up with UNIFY to bring a Heavy Radio Festival to the airwaves in place of the 2021 event.

A pandemic can close our venues, ban our gigs and end our gatherings, but You Can’t Stop The Music!  Melbourne’s beloved radio station PBS 106.7FM is dusting off the dancing shoes for its annual Radio Festival from Monday 18 May to Sunday 31 May. This year’s festival refuses to let a little isolation get in the way of the biggest on air fundraiser party the FM bandwidth can handle. PBS is inviting listeners to put their money where their ears are and join or renew this May to keep the tunes rolling for another nonstop boogie around the sun. 

2019 was a watershed year for heavy music in Australia and indeed, the world. A titanium-strength year for releases worldwide, multiple Australian heavy music festivals stormed the scene, successful tour after successful tour destroyed venues all over the country - and the scene galvanised more than ever!

Feature MORE Australian MUSIC is a campaign to raise awareness of the lack of local content featured across the airwaves, in particular on commercial radio. FM/AM hopes that with the united voice of Australian musicians and artists, the general public and Australian music fans will join us in asking to hear more Australian music and especially NEW music.
