SELECT MUSIC IS PROUD TO PARTNER WITH PLUS 1 BRINGING DIGNITY, EQUITY, AND ACCESS TO COMMUNITIES IN NEED
Australia's largest independent booking agency Select Music are excited to officially announce their partnership with PLUS1; a social impact platform that dedicates $1 from purchased show tickets to effective non-profits addressing our most pressing social and environmental issues. Founded by long-time Arcade Fire member Marika Anthony-Shaw, PLUS1 was built from the belief that collective impact leads to social change by bringing together artists and their fans via live music. #CompassionIsContagious
“As booking agents, we noticed a growing desire from our artists to give back and support causes close to their hearts and PLUS1 has given us an effective and ongoing solution with their initiative. As they say, it starts with just $1 but the collective impact of the community is exponentially bigger. Together, we can and are making big change.” Casey O’Shaughnessy, senior booking agent at Select Music
Select has been working hard with the PLUS1 team over the past year to introduce the initiative to Australian audiences of artists they represent. The partnership has already raised upwards of $50,000 via tours by Skegss, Ruby Fields, Pist Idiots, Polish Club, The Beths, Japanese Wallpaper, Montaigne, Stella Donnelly and more. These funds have assisted charities such as and more. They look forward to raising even more now that they are bringing the opportunity to engage with PLUS1 company wide.
Globally, upwards of $5 million has been raised for leading social justice organisations tackling issues from poverty and injustice to the environment by artists including Arcade Fire, The National, St. Vincent, CHVRCHES, Flume and many more.

"PLUS1 is so great! It makes donating to worthwhile charity organisations completely stress-free for both me and my fans — they don’t need to think about which charity to donate to (and I imagine we’re values-aligned enough that the charity I pick is suitable for them), nor how, and I get to funnel money into a cause I care about. It’s such a great service!” - Jess Cerro, Montaigne
