SILVERBACK TOURING knows the importance of live music, the effect it has on us all and the fact it’s something we have been sadly missing due to a Global Event that none of us would ever had predicted. Now it’s time to get the live industry back and firing.

The ‘’Aussie Made’’ dates are proceeding in May and June, however, due to an unforeseen scheduling issue Electric Mary are unable to appear. They have been replaced by legendary rock act THE POOR, and in addition, heavy blues rock band, the THE BLACK CARDINALS have been added to the bill!
The Black Cardinals
Some of Australia’s Best Rock Acts THE POOR, PALACE OF THE KING, DEAD CITY RUINS and THE BLACK CARDINALS get together to reignite the live scene, which is slowly wakening from its forced slumber.
In 1992 THE POOR cut their debut release, the EP; Rude, Crude & Tattooed, produced by Rick Brewster & Bob Spencer from The Angels and from the opening line you knew it was going to be something great; Aussie pub rock, in your face, straight to the point, Rock ‘n’ Roll! In Mid-1993, the band recorded their debut album, Who Cares and was released via Epic Records. The single, ‘More Wine Waiter Please’, became the number 1 most added track on US Rock Radio and attracted unprecedented acclaim from the U.S. rock press. They toured relentlessly, drank hard and rocked harder. Over the next 2 years THE POOR toured the States (twice), Europe, Japan and all over Australia. During their turbulent roller coaster ride they scored support slots for The Angels, AC/DC, KISS, The Scorpions, Alice In Chains & Van Halen just to name a few.
After a long hibernation the band returned in 2009 with the albums Round 1 & Round 2. After having been around the best part of 30 years THE POOR continue their live legacy and continue to live up to the tag of one of hardest working, hardest rocking and best live bands Australia has produced.
Palace Of The King
PALACE OF THE KING have played hundreds of gigs all around the world and released two EPs and three acclaimed albums, with a fourth on the way. The editor of The Age’s entertainment section, Martin Boulton, applauded the band’s blistering debut, White Bird/Burn The Sky. In a four-star rave, he wrote, “Just a little over two years into life as a band, PALACE OF THE KING have played a staggering 200-plus shows. All that time on stage and hanging out together has honed a mighty sound hellbent on rattling the rafters, shaking speakers and, quite frankly, emulating their many obvious influences.”
Yep, PALACE OF THE KING give a nod and a wink to the classics. PALACE OF THE KING dig the raves, but this is one band that’s more than happy to let the music do all the talking. Their message is loud and proud. They believe in the power of rock.
Dead City Ruins
Melbourne’s DEAD CITY RUINS play Rock ‘n’ Roll like their lives depend on it. If you can imagine Black Sabbath, Early 80’s Iron Maiden and Phil Lynott era Thin Lizzy, thrown in a blender alongside antipodean grit, sweat and a fountain of beers, you’re getting close to the in your face, high energy live show delivered at brain splitting decibels these guys produce. They’ve opened for big guns like Skid Row, Ugly Kid Joe, Mastodon, Rival Sons, Wolfmother and more!
Their latest album NEVER SAY DIE was picked up by well renowned German Label AFM Records Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Steve Welsh, DEAD CITY RUINS took their dynamic and powerful live show to European audiences in support of the album touring with U.D.O (Udo Dirkschneider) for a 5-week tour, tearing venues apart and leaving the audience hungry for more.
There is something special about rock ’n’ roll and the blues. Both unique in their own way and both ridiculously amazing when blended together. Don’t believe it? Ask Rival Sons, Black Stone Cherry and The Black Crowes. The Black Cardinals formed in early 2019 from the ashes of a number of Sydney bands, all bringing together a mixed bag of influences ranging from indie pop and hard rock to soul and R&B. The result is big. Think traditional big riffs with blues undertones, a shit load of groove and soulful vocals.
Live is where the essence of The Black Cardinals is best captured and fans will soon have the chance to witness their live show with the band securing the much coveted national support slot for the upcoming Aussie Made tour featuring Australian rock heavyweights: The Poor, Palace of the King & Dead City Ruins. The band is currently hard at work in the studio working with Thirsty Merc’s, Sean Carey, on their next offering, "Gravity", due for release on 30 April 2021 with an EP to follow soon after
Rounding out the line-up will be local supports in each city. If you’re up for a dose of true-blue rock ‘n’ roll, these shows are not to be missed.
