BELIEVE AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCES EXCITING NEW LABEL DEAL WITH SYDNEY BASED INDIE LABEL DOUBLE DRUMMER RECORDINGS
Originally beginning life in 2016 as a publishing and artist development house, Double Drummer quickly expanded to encompass label services and boutique management. Led by a father and son team - Tim and Edward Prescott, the label has quickly built an exciting roster of Australian recording artists with a focus on outstanding singer/songwriters.
The Double Drummer roster includes popular Melbourne chameleons Cousin Tony's Brand New Firebird, rising Cairns star Greta Stanley, Sydney indie troubadour Dominic Breen, atmospheric Brisbane indie-pop act Fresco Kyoto, and the layered cinematic electro-pop of Dust Of Us. Several exciting new signings are imminent and will be announced shortly.
The Believe relationship will empower Double Drummer to develop impactful local and international marketing campaigns, complemented by promotional support and a committed worldwide digital distribution team.
Mick Tarbuk, MD of Believe Australia said “We are all thrilled to welcome Double Drummer to the Believe Label Family. Tim and Edward have built an inspiring roster of Australian artists, we can't wait to get started!”
Troy Barrott, Senior Label Manager commented “Double Drummer’s focus on quality A&R and artist development is an incredible asset, and they are one of a next generation of Australian record labels doing things completely independently, and ready to take on the world.”
Tim Prescott said, "Our label evolved purely to support our artists. I'm excited that Believe share our love of their music; and see a big future for them, and for Double Drummer. This relationship expands our team, and our horizons. Thanks Believe for believing!”
Edward Prescott adds, “This industry revolves around one thing - exceptional songwriting. Nothing excites me more than when one of our artists sends us a new mix. At the end of the day, we are just extremely passionate music fans who want to help our artists take their music as far as they can. I’m very grateful to Believe for supporting that goal.”
Double Drummer's first releases through Believe will be the lead single from Dominic Breen's upcoming debut album (produced and mixed by Tim Fitz from Middle Kids). The track, titled ‘Lovelost’, is out Nov 18th. Also released that same day will be the new single from Dust Of Us, ‘Punching Bag’ - a searing retort to abusive behaviour, featuring the wonderful Jess Chalker on vocals. New albums are expected in 2021 from Greta Stanley, Dominic Breen, Fresco Kyoto and Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird.
