“At only 19, and with just 2 studio single under her belt, Lara Andallo is already one of the most promising R&B artists in Australia.” -The Guardian

“If Sydney is to become known internationally for the strength of RnB offerings, it’ll be Lara leading the charge.” -FBi Radio

While Lara Andallo may be a relatively new member of Australia's swelling R&B scene, she's already established herself as one of the country's most promising performers. Today, Lara returns with her third single of 2020 “On My Mind”, alongside an electrifying music video.

On the single, Lara notes "I haven't really shown my cute & flirty side in any of my previous releases as much as I do in this one, but of course I still gotta let him know I ain't like the rest & say it proudly with my chest."

Showcasing her full talents as a professional dancer and choreographer, the video features Lara’s tight-knit crew of dancers, models, DJs and rappers, and was developed in conjunction with her close friend and choreographer Jervis Livelo. Watch the video HERE.

"It was super dope to have my friends dancing with me & my music crew, like Lil Spacely & Mowgli May backing me up for it. Bringing my two worlds together for my first official music video, meant a lot to me. It was such a vibe!" says Lara on the video. “"I really want to bring these types of music video's to the local scene. Dance is a huge part of my self-expression & storytelling. It's a visual extension of my song writing.”

Earlier in the year, Lara shared her single “When The Lights Go Out”, fresh off the back of releasing her debut mixtape 'FOR HER’ which was met with wide critical acclaim. Flexing her multi-faceted artistry and ability to write emotive R&B with zesty club appeal, the mixtape displayed Lara's keen ear for collaboration; featuring tracks “180” with Western Sydney rapper Lil Spacely, while fellow female powerhouses JOY. and Kota Banks have production and co-writing credits on the project.

The For Her mixtape launch saw Lara perform to a packed audience at Sydney institution Freda's, marking her first time onstage since 2017. Accompanied by back-up dancers and DJ Mowgli May, it's more proof that Lara's extravagant live show is one of Australia's most essential.

While Lara had grand plans to get back onstage consistently in 2020, those plans halted due to the widespread lockdowns. Instead Lara turned her attention to creating her Aussie R&B Girls Night In Instagram livestream back in April, featuring A.Girl, Becca Hatch and Ms. Thandi. Using social media to further stay in touch with her fans, Lara hosts dance classes on TikTok and Instagram, sound tracked by her own infectious bops.

ABOUT LARA ANDALLO

With her debut mixtape released in January 2020, Filipino-Australian artist Lara Andallo has quickly cemented her place as one of the leading voices in Australian R&B. Inspired by bold female R&B singers like Kehlani, H.E.R. and Ella Mai, Lara's versatile vocals dance from rapid-fire to honeyed soul, flowing over lush, trap-influenced beats. At 17 years old, Lara independently released three-bedroom recordings that were met with praise from Australian radio and local press. Now armed with her first body of work and a jaw-dropping live dance show, Lara joins a new guard of Australian R&B artists making waves.
