After bursting on to the scene with their Australian summer favourite “Come Along” at the end of 2020, respected Ghanaian-Australian singer, songwriter and producer sibling duo Kinder (aka Savannah and Briony Osei) are back with their musical latest offering “Bus Stop”. “On this track we wanted to explore a darker, late night energy that we thrive on at our live shows. Once we found a beat with the right attitude, the melodies and words flowed effortlessly. Similar to the lyrics in the song, we had "no shame" when writing this, we just let the song run wild.” “Bus Stop” pays tribute to Savannah and Briony’s father Kofi, in a sweet fictional tale about a character who can’t get off ‘African Time’ — a term Savannah, Briony and their mother use to describe Kofi’s creative interpretation of timings. Dark and brooding, the song is effortlessly empowering, ending on a dancefloor climax that enforces the value of forging your path at your own speed.
Since the release of “Come Along”, Kinder have been busy establishing themselves as two of the country’s most celebrated homegrown stars. From supporting international superstar Rita Ora at Nova’s Red Room last month, to performing at Wine Machine festival and now starring in a national campaign for Myer.
Growing up in Maitland, NSW, Savannah and Briony were immersed in music from a young age. This early musical education gave the sisters an introduction to rhythm and craft, rich beat work and electrifying charisma. While Savannah took an interest in playing piano, Briony was drawn to dancing, and the body-moving potential of powerful beats. As teenagers, Savannah and Briony slowly began to immerse themselves in club culture, finding their way to Sydney to DJ at the city’s hallowed clubs. Those hole-in-the-wall slots quickly became headline slots, which became festival and stadium slots, opening for the likes of Marshmello and RL Grime, and performing on national festival circuits, including the 2017 Groovin’ the Moo national tour. The heart of all Briony and Savannah’s endeavours, even from their earliest shows, has always remained the same: Kinder want to bring people joy — to make them dance and smile and forget their troubles, even if only for a minute.
