Legendary US Alt Rock band Yellowcard will be returning down under in April 2025 - celebrating the 20-year anniversary of their platinum-selling album ‘Ocean Avenue’. The Jacksonville 4-piece will be joined by legendary pop-punk stalwarts Motion City Soundtrack & Plain White T’s on all dates.

With over 1.8 million US copies sold and over 1 billion streams to date - the influence of Yellowcard’s seminal fourth studio album ‘Ocean Avenue’ is immeasurable.  Armed with singles such as ‘Only One’, ‘Breathing’, ‘Way Away’ and, of course the title track ‘Ocean Avenue’, the album was a breakthrough for the band in 2003 - and has become a landmark album of the pop-punk and alternative rock sphere.

With dates in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle & Brisbane - Yellowcard will be bringing their 20th anniversary ‘Ocean Avenue’ show to eager fans across the country for the first time since 2017.

“It has taken us a long time to sort out bringing the 20th anniversary of Ocean Avenue to Australia, but we promise it will be worth the wait! This lineup is so good and we can’t wait to reconnect with our fans down under." YELLOWCARD

Supporting on all dates is beloved Minneapolis 5-piece Motion City Soundtrack. Formed in 1997, the band have been captivating fans with their energetic blend of emo/pop-punk and indie for decades.

Known for their catchy melodies, introspective lyrics, and dynamic performances, the band quickly rose to prominence with hits like ‘Everything Is Alright’ and ‘The Future Freaks Me Out’. After a 10 year hiatus, Motion City Soundtrack have made a triumphant return - releasing their new single ‘Stop Talking’ back in August, much to their fan’s delight.

Their upcoming return to our shores marks their first Australian shows since 2016 - bringing a career spanning set that must not be missed.

Completing the lineup is Plain White T’s - returning for the first time since their appearance at Soundwave back in 2008. Since emerging in 1997, the Chicago quartet have remained visible and viable throughout their career. Their breakthrough single ‘Hey There Delilah’ made an instant impact back in 2006 - hitting the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and receiving two Grammy nominations. The band have since amassed over 2.7 Billion streams, collected several Platinum-plus and Gold certifications across their impressive catalogue, and seen praise from the likes of TIME, Billboard, ESPN and Rolling Stone.

Pre-sale tickets for the tour will be available via Destroy All Lines from 5pm AEDT on the 10th of December, with general on-sale available from 9am local time on the 12th of December.

PRAISE

“The Jacksonville, Florida, band’s fourth album tapped directly into the adolescent heart of early-2000s pop-punk, zeroing in on the endless nights and intense beauty of teenage love and staying young forever, tropes that helped make nostalgic, arena-worthy single “Ocean Avenue” a treasured classic.”

ROLLING STONE

“Ocean Avenue made an almighty impression upon its release. The title track is an irresistible anthem, while the thrilling “Way Away” and power ballad “Only One” add to the album’s prevailing sense of raw catharsis. The deep cuts rock, too: “Believe” will strike a chord with anyone who’s felt like an outcast; “Empty Apartment,” meanwhile, is delightful pop-punk balladry. A true classic.”

LOUDWIRE’

“Pop-punk with violins? It couldn’t work, could it? Well, actually, yes, it could, and Ocean Avenue is so jam-packed with tunes that you’ll be wanting to get your bow out and start practising in no time. One of the genre’s more commercially successful albums, it’s sold well in excess of a million copies. Crumbs.”
