“For those on the lookout for a new artist to follow, you can’t really do much wrong with Jiordy.”

— Tone Deaf

“This is a sparkling and exciting release from an artist that feels on the verge of something impressive and unexpected.”

— Purple Sneakers

“Jiordy's really in a spell-binding state of mind on this track. The track feels like it's been soaked in light hallucinogens, making for a shape-shifting and wobbly aura.”

— Dave Ruby Howe, triple j

[The track] is full of heart and sparkling beauty and the up-tempo, U.K feel to that beat is an almighty cherry on top!”

— Declan Byrne, triple j

Feels like: Being dazed and happy; introspective and reminiscent. Tastes like: Caramel and cream. Sounds like: A textured landscape that holds you dearly. Looks like: A glaring Summer's afternoon by your favourite lake. Smells like: Sweet grass and smoky wood.

‘Hard to Say’ is the first single from Jiordy’s forthcoming EP ‘A Sprig of Wattle’, set for release in August 2021.

Exploring the complex relationship we have with our pasts, Hard to Say navigates the undulating journey of life from Jiordy’s contemplative perspective. From ties left untied, to years spent seeped in self-loathing, the visceral track ponders the artists personal experience of growth, self-evolution and acceptance. In Jiordy’s own words:

“This track is a reflection of my formative adult years and the trial and error that has come with finding my place in the world. It’s about making peace with the past and honouring the wisdom and perspective that comes from life's experiences - both precious and painful. It’s about transforming the shame of past rejection and betrayal into something real, raw and unashamedly human”.

Sonically, the spellbinding track features sweet and smoky vocal harmonies, shimmery, ambient style synths and wistful piano embellishments which lay the bed for Jiordy’s introspective style of lyricism. The rise and fall of musical elements and gradual build to crescendo mirrors the lyrical journey, as the intricacy of Brown’s production takes the audience on a spellbinding trip from start to finish.

“It’s not until I can write about something, that I can truly process it and let it go. When I feel brave enough to sort through my past, it ends up in my music. What you hear in my music is my way of closing a chapter; of moving on.”

Jiordy’s new single ‘Hard To Say’ is the first single from her forthcoming EP ‘A Sprig of Wattle’, out August 2021.
