INTRODUCING SAMETIME // THE SUNSHINE COAST DUO GIVE YOU NEW SINGLE "TYPICAL"
Sunshine Coast sibling duo Sametime have dropped brand new single ‘Typical’, a catchy summer anthem with sparkling verses and an undeniable chorus.
Playing together for more than half their lives, Sam and Tim Aitken have become a staple in the Sunshine Coast live scene - playing over 200 shows since they were 13 years old, including slots at Bluesfest and the Caloundra Music Festival.
Winning the Bluesfest busking competition in 2018 (over stiff competition from Tones & I), the brothers went on to release their debut self-titled EP and undertook their first interstate shows.
With 2019 Sam’s first year out of high school, the band have spent the majority of the last year writing, recording and exploring their musicality, with the new single the first result of these sessions, and the first time incorporating a full band for their live shows.
A huge artistic leap forward for the band, ‘Typical’ combines glimpses of the melodic magic of Boy and Bear and the catchy summer vibes of Lime Cordiale:
"We have really pushed ourselves this year to write better songs and go beyond our own instruments to open our minds to what our songs can be," said Sam Aitken. "We want to write the kind of songs that make people want to sing along. Whether it’s busking together or doing our full show, we just want people to walk away feeling good".
"Typical" is out now.
