- THE INTERNS
"Her confident and empowering attitude towards life shines through..."
- PILERATS
In the absence of nationwide performances at Groovin The Moo, Kira Puru returns to spice up your life with Idiot. Available today via New Tribe Music | Sony Music Entertainment Australia, the deeply infectious new single represents strength in vulnerability - a revered trademark of the uniquely individual Melbourne-based musician.
On Idiot, Kira perfects her signature style of compelling pop with buoyant beats and impactful lyrics. “Idiot is about being powerless in your attachment to someone, indulging compulsive and destructive habits, feeling frustrated. It’s about being in love even when you don’t want to be,” says Kira of the track.
The new single is paired with a kaleidoscopic animated lyric video created on MS Paint by Kira’s friend, emerging artist Celine Dore.
The track follows on from Kira’s unconventional love song Why Don’t We Get Along and her anthemic jam with attitude Everything Is Better Without You. Since the release of her debut self titled EP, Kira has quickly gathered a cult following by deviating from the customary and displaying her penchant for authenticity.
Set to perform this November and December as special guest for Thelma Plum, in the past year, Kira roamed the nation on her biggest headline tour to date and supported Peking Duk and Yungblud. Kira has also taken the stage at Jam in a Jar, Yours and Owls and Grapevine Gathering Festivals.
