Perth pop-punk sensations Homestate are today releasing their self-titled EP after unleashing two huge singles in the lead up to a hungry audience. To celebrate the release of their first offering of new music in three years, Homestate will launch the EP live at Lucy's Love Shack in their hometown tomorrow, November 30!

Homestate released the inspired "Sick Sad World" in early October and the nostalgic "Sunny Day" earlier this month, leading the band to snap up a spin on RAGE, a feature on Good Intent's 'Good Friday Top 5', a couple of plays on Triple J's Short. Fast. Loud., a mention in Unearthed's 'In The Pit' special with Mitch Alexander and Josh Merriel and a number of shares across the globe celebrating the bands particular reminiscent brand of pop-punk.

Here's what the public have said so far:

"This makes me miss being 19 and going to house parties. Simpler times. Love it."
- Joshua Redbeard (triple j Short. Fast. Loud.)

"Pure, distilled, bouncing joy. Perfect mix of melancholia, note selection, and appeals to the parts of my brain that fused tight when I was a teenager. This rules."
- Mitch Alexander (triple j The Racket)

"All my favourite emo/pop-punk memories are flooding through this song, from Rufio to Sum 41. Hook this nasal, chuggy goodness to my veins"
- Tommy Faith (triple j Unearthed)

"Every track on this record is a prime example of how special the pop-punk genre can be."
- Jamie Apps (Sydney City Hub)

"With the official start of summer just days away, we couldn’t think of a better soundtrack to kick off epic summer days by the pool/beach, beer in hand, surrounded by your mates."
- Tamara May (Wall Of Sound)

"Full of vivacious energy, it’s a thick shake made just right. Balancing feverishly pounding drums and heavy chord strumming with cheeky lightness, it’s gritty without being aggressive. Fun and lively, listening to this track is an instant mood booster."
- Stephanie Tang (Born Yesterday)

The EP was mixed and mastered by Seb Barlow (Neck Deep, Woes, As It Is) and was a rewarding experience for the band as Barlow produced so many of the artists that have inspired their own music. The EP tackles relationships, the good and the bad, and how damaging past hurt and heartbreak can be. Homestate’s EP aims to act as a buffer for listeners and their life experiences, to give them a voice where they feel they might not have one. Fraser explains "each of the songs can be told from multiple perspectives and at some point in everyone’s life, they’re bound to relate. Life is hard, love is even harder, but without both, nothing would be worthwhile".

Homestate formed in 2017 and were quick to join the ranks in pop punk, supporting an array of touring acts including Mayday Parade (US), The Maine (US), Waterparks (US) and Sydney favourites, Yours Truly. Homestate will launch their brand new self-titled EP to their homegrown audience at Lucy's Love Shack in Perth on Saturday November 30 alongside friends Carrington, Pacific and Abandon Limbo.

Homestate's self titled EP is out now and available on all digital and streaming platforms at https://linktr.ee/homestateau. Tickets for Homestate's launch show are available at the door only, so put this one in your calendar and get down early!
