'Sake of Sound' is the next glorious single to be lifted from Dulcie’s debut EP Sake Of Sound which is out today, along with a delightful visualiser and released via their very own label imprint, Lapis Lazuli. The Perth all girl indie-pop band, are currently on tour as supports for the formidable Tyne-James Organ and have already played rapturous shows in Adelaide, Perth, Wollongong and Sydney with dates still to come in Melbourne, Hobart, Canberra and Newcastle. Tickets and more info available HERE.
Dulcie member Ash, describes the premise behind the EP title track, “Sake Of Sound' is one of our favourites to play live so it's great to get it down on record! ‘Sake of Sound’ is about coming to terms with the realisation that the relationship isn’t right for you anymore and trusting that letting go is best for both sides".
New track ‘Sake of Sound’ joins previous singles ‘Ethereal’ and ‘Dust’ along with the unreleased, ‘Level Head’ on their four track debut EP, Sake Of Sound. Dulcie enlisted the production prowess of fellow WA musical alumni Joel Quartermain of legendary Eskimo Joe fame who’s illustrious list of production credits include Meg Mac, Dan Sultan and Merci, Mercy.
With the release of their previous singles the four piece received praise from a wide range of Australian media outlets including Pilerats, Women in Pop, NME, triple j, triple j unearthed, Music Feeds, AU Review and many more. Dulcie were also named 2021 Western Australia Music Awards nominees for most popular act and most popular live act.
The band have also been turning heads in the wider Australian music scene with Ocean Alley dubbing their soulful debut single ‘Fall’ their favourite track of 2019 with the band adding Dulcie and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets as supports for their rescheduled shows through August and September. Further on the live front, Dulcie wrapped up Birds Of Tokyo support slots for their Fremantle Prison gigs earlier this year. X-Press Magazine praised Dulcie’s stage presence, “there is a symbiotic relationship between the band and crowd and when it’s so clearly presented like Dulcie, the crowd cannot help but be pulled into that energy”. The four piece will also be supporting Odette tonight in Perth at The Rosemount Hotel. Their harmonies have already made a massive mark and with the release of their debut EP today, this is certainly only the beginning for the all-female force that is Dulcie.
