ELSY WAMEYO RETURNS WITH CHARGED UP NEW SINGLE, 'PASTOR'
Following on from the strong single ‘Outcast’ last year, Adelaide’s Elsy Wameyo returns with another captivating hit of music, this time in ‘Pastor’.
Working again with Mario Späte (Tkay Maidza, Montaigne), Wameyo comes out the other side of her creative process empowered and effortlessly engaging on the track. Pulling from personal experiences, ‘Pastor’ is a letter of strength. ‘Pastor’ is backed by bright production and keys that propel the confidence her voice shines with.
Gospel influences resound, as Elsy powers through from the heart. Elsy’s faith and connection to her family have remained strong threads listeners will notice when tuning into her music. “‘Pastor’ was written at a time where I felt defeated. However, deep inside I knew that nothing could ever defeat the almighty. In life, there's always going to be ups and downs but purpose will always prevail and that's something that I was and am still sure of.” Elsy Wameyo
Where ‘Outcast’ introduced audiences to the activism and honesty Elsy pours into her work, her new single puts the spotlight on her talents as a versatile vocalist and performer. With a sound similar to that of SZA and Jhene Aiko, Elsy Wameyo is proving once again her fresh dynamo status.
