After taking Boogie Festival by storm at their prime time slot earlier this month, Ausecuma Beats return to the stage to launch their debut, self-titled album, out now via Music in Exile.
A band formed to celebrate diversity in music and featuring members from Senegal, Mali, Cuba, Gambia, Guinea and Australia, Ausecuma Beats are an absolute tour-de-force, a stage presence to be reckoned with. The 9-strong band will bring their unique brand of Caribbean flavoured afrobeat to The John Curtin on Friday May 7, packed full of endless grooves and frenetic rhythms.

The debut self-titled LP from Ausecuma Beats encapsulates the spirit of the band; each track showcases the different talents of each musician and sonically explores what is possible when we join together and celebrate our differences. Messages of love and respect flow throughout the album alongside catchy call and response melodies and an impressive groove that showcases Ausecuma Beats’ incredible percussive skill.
Ausecuma Beats are more than just a band, they are a community, a family, a frame of mind.
“Our role is to develop a new style of music. To learn how to share with each other. The other guys learn a lot from me, about Senegal, my culture. I learn a lot about them, about Mali, other West African states. We work to lift each other, to learn from each other through music.
We are friends and we are family.
We represent our community, which is Melbourne, Australia.
