CANBERRA ALT-ROCK GROUP SPUTNIK SWEETHEART DROP VISUALS FOR LATEST SINGLE ‘ROLLING’
Sputnik Sweetheart today return, presenting the official music video for their bright single, ‘Rolling’. The track, first released near the end of 2020, proved to be another strong effort from the Canberra four piece.
Passionate vocals meets strong indie rock instrumentation and refined production put Sputnik Sweetheart further on the map as ones to watch in 2021 and here we are, the band is ready and raring to go.
For the ‘Rolling’ visuals, Sputnik Sweetheart took things from the city to the sea, with Noosa Heads providing the backdrop for two central characters (dancers John Paul Lowe and Isaak McLean) to perform. Choreography and scenes of crashing waves match up with the stirring nature of the track brilliantly, directed Jaden Marc.
“Our idea for the music video was to create a subtle love story between two people who may not have admitted their feelings to each other yet. I think this is a situation a lot of queer people like myself have experienced, whilst they might still be coming to terms with their sexuality.”

“A strong post-punk flourish for Sputnik Sweetheart to send 2020 off with! The playing and Nette's vocals rise like this tide of tension through the song, finishing with a cathartic exit.”
