ALBUM REVIEW: CHASE ATLANTIC - BEAUTY IN DEATH

G’day, little muffins. Have I got an album for you!
Not my usual review- you know me, I like the acoustic-y, lullaby type of music that puts my heart into a state. These Cairns boys, however, are killing it right now!

The album BEAUTY IN DEATH is out now so if you haven’t yet, get yourselves ready!

Full of all different R&B undertones; more low fi and cloud rap in some songs than others, you’ll find that each song is vastly different from the next… but mostly the same kind of theme. Drugs, sex, booze, the downfalls of being famous.

I hear a lot of Post Malone type influence- soundcloud rap is always changing and developing, and it doesn’t really take a lot to assess trends and think about what people like.

It's hard to tell who’s who, but it was nice to hear different members in different parts as they're actually a three-piece band.

MOLLY was definitely a standout for me, much softer and a little bit lighter in terms of synths and beats throughout, featuring a jazzy little number just in the bridge.

Honourable mentions for me were CALL ME BACK and the album’s namesake, BEAUTY IN DEATH. You’re definitely going to hear some similarities in terms of uplifting style, higher beats and those elevated synths that bridge on bubblegum pop.

With features from DE’WAYNE and Xavier Mayne (an Aussie Hip Hop prodigy) you’re really going to want to hear more of what Chase Atlantic have to offer.

This sounds like just the start of their musical career, and while Australia hasn’t yet reached the pinnacle of R&B like we could, Chase Atlantic are really making strides in their genre and pushing their limits. Can’t wait to hear what’s coming next!
