ALICE SKYE SHARES NEW VIDEO FOR RECENT SINGLE“PARTY TRICKS”

Wergaia / Wemba Wemba indie-pop artist Alice Skye today follows up her recent single “Party Tricks” with an official music video. The single will be featured on Alice’s recently announced second album, I Feel Better But I Don’t Feel Good, set for release on July 23 via Bad Apples Music.

Directed by Triana Hernandez and with cinematography by Nick Mckk, the visual gives a nod to the country of Alice’s mob where she grew up near Horsham, Gariwerd (The Grampians), with many of the changing scenes and concepts shaped by what the land was providing on the day of filming. Mirroring the track’s anthemic production from Jen Cloher, the clip forms a symbol for intimacy and vulnerability specifically designed for Alice's identity, where the landscapes feel like a recurring dream mixing together past, present and future timelines; a concept which Alice & Triana worked closely to create.

Triana Hernandez says of the video: "Alice & I conceptualised 'Party Tricks' hoping to achieve emotional rawness at its best. As opposed to all previous clips we've worked on together, 'Party Tricks' has no narrative or twists - it's all one big visual avalanche of intensity, featuring sacred spaces where Alice grew up and where thousands of her childhood and teenage feelings were being safely held by country for years. When directing it, I felt like we were finally releasing these feelings into the ether, capturing them on camera and that's what you witness in the video."

The official video arrives ahead of a special feature appearance Alice will be making on the forthcoming new album, Reprise, from electronic pioneer Moby, out on May 28. The collection will consist of re-workings of tracks from Moby’s celebrated, 30-year back catalogue, with Alice’s soaring vocals set to shape an intimate reimagining of 2002 release “Great Escape”, alongside additional guest features from Nataly Dawn and Luna Li. Other features on the record include Skylar Grey, Gregory Porter, Mark Lanegan and Kris Kristofferson. Adding to a huge week, Alice Skye has also been announced to make her solo debut with Triple J's Like A Version on Friday, May 28, performing an original and a cover live in the studio.

With “Party Tricks” now receiving a stunning visual treatment, and with a brand new album on the way, fans can catch the new single, past favourites and glimpses at unreleased music live on stage when Alice embarks on a co-headline tour with Elizabeth this June/July. Tickets are on sale now to their performances across the country, so be quick & don’t miss out.
