With her star firmly set on an unstoppable trajectory, Melbourne-via-India artist ASHWARYA has today revealed an incredible visual to accompany her current single ‘To The  Night (feat. Vic Mensa)’. Alongside the video, ASHWARYA is thrilled to announce she’ll take to the live stage this July for her debut headline tour in support of the release of her EP Nocturnal Hours (out 10 June via NOiZE Recordings). Hitting Melbourne’s The Toff In Town on Friday 9 July and Waywards in Sydney on Saturday 10 July, tickets are on sale now via here for Melbourne and here for Sydney.

Shot across three continents with scenes cut from Melbourne, Tokyo and London, the visual for ‘To The Night (feat. Vic Mensa)’ features both artists and was created using gaming engines, point cloud photogrammetry and various other forward-thinking technologies ingeniously invented by the creative mastermind’s belonging to Emile Frederick, Rueben Fro and Nathaniel Redeckop.

The team utilised 3D scans of Tokyo streets which have been duplicated and mirrored to create a sense of onward expansion. Tools and shaders specifically created for point cloud rendering, initially developed for a series of real-time art installations, were adopted here for real-time VFX and video production.

“We were looking to create an opening to Ash’s world that played in both the physical and digital realm, something that created a conversation between the two,” explains Emile Frederick from the creative team. “Using real world photo scans and augmenting physical spaces and objects was pretty key to setting that tone. We also knew we wanted to create something fun and playful and set up a landscape that was as bold and vivid as ASHWARYA and her music are.”

Produced by Jarrad Rogers (Charli XCX, Mark Ronson, Icona Pop) and Lucian Blomkamp (Mallrat, 6lack, PRICIE) and mixed by Jamie Snell (Mura Masa, Ellie Goulding, Dua Lipa), the feelings on ‘To The Night’ are dark and complex. ASHWARYA’s heady internal world clashes with the chaotic realities of our lives in the 2020s, resulting in an impassioned, empathetic track that speaks to our moment. “It’s about triumphing over personal or external obstacles that may hold you back,” ASHWARYA explains of the track.

‘To The Night’ follows singles 'PSYCHO HOLE', 'BIRIYANI' and 'COMIN@ME', all of which will join two further tracks on ASHWARYA’s forthcoming debut EP Nocturnal Hours - out 10 June. The body of work is a glamorous and insightful look into the mind of a young pop auteur. The EP is ASHWARYA at her purest, and speaks to her ambition to not only become a fixture of the pop landscape, but to stay true to her distinct personality and sound throughout.

Don’t miss ASHWARYA’s EP come to life in full effect on her headline tour this July. Those eager to catch her prior, can see her in support of CXLOE this Friday 21 May at Melbourne’s Nightcat and in Sydney on Friday 11 June at Factory Theatre.
