“The Sunday Estate are a rare mix of alt-rock and indie-pop that combine to create an outfit that could soon be your new favourite band.”
- TONE DEAF

Forging a sound that melds frank and evocative lyrics charged with post punk sensibilities, The Sunday Estate play with a bittersweet dynamic - sunny and warm, with an engaging, subtle twist.  Today, the Sydney five-piece unveil their addictive new single Pray For Rain, alongside a visual accompaniment via Mirror Records.   Following the release, the band will perform at Waywards in Sydney on Thursday 18 March

Laden with pounding drums, buzzsaw guitars and bright atmospherics, Pray For Rain is as triumphant as it’s alarming. The track is a nihilistic outlook at an uncertain future plagued by environmental and political upheaval, whilst also an optimistic look at a world that could be.

Directed by Dane Wang, the video clip captures a journey of fear of the future, death, losing touch and being alone, and closes with the chaos and abandon of their frenetic live show.

Formed in 2018, The Sunday Estate spent the year perfecting their craft, before they took to the stage in 2019 as they grew in confidence and size.   2020 saw the release of three songs, I Don’t Want to Be AloneGive Me (Something) and Let’s Stop Pretending, the strength of the tracks largely in frontman Conor O’Reilly’s voice, his depictions of the intimacy of home life and the trials of childhood and young adulthood.  Following the growing buzz surrounding the band and their heaving live shows, The Sunday Estate recently signed to indie tastemaker label Mirror Records, becoming part of the Mirror Music Group family, who have represented the likes of Gang Of Youths, Middle Kids, Clea, Sloan Peterson and Charlie Collins.

Through Conor’s frank and evocative lyrics, the band’s weaving instrumentals, Ryan K Brennan’s masterful production, mixed with additional production from Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy)Pray For Rain is the exhilarating next chapter in the story of an act who are truly only just getting started.
