TAME IMPALA REVEALS OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR ‘LOST IN YESTERDAY’ + FOURTH STUDIO ALBUM ‘THE SLOW RUSH’ OUT FRIDAY 14 FEBRUARY + TOURING AUSTRALIA THIS APRIL

Following the announcement of his biggest ever tour of Australia and New Zealand this AprilTame Impala aka Kevin Parker today reveals the perennial visual for Lost in Yesterday.  The first official video was captured by Terri Timely, the directing duo of Ian Kibbey and Corey Creasey who have helmed videos for St. Vincent, Joanna Newsom and more.  Lost in Yesterday is the latest single from Tame Impala’s fourth studio album The Slow Rush available February 14 via Island Records Australia.

Lost In Yesterday is a deep dive into the addictive nature of nostalgia propelled by loopy, driving disco. An examination of time’s distorting effect on memories, on Lost In Yesterday Parker realises that even the most disdainful times can take on a rosy tinge the further they recede in the rearview. Looking back can be a tough habit to break, but the track’s compulsive bassline, sprinkles of electronic stardust and chorus catharsis ensure the focus is firmly on the future.

In addition to Lost in Yesterday, Parker has shared three tracks from The Slow Rush Posthumous ForgivenessIt Might Be Time and Borderline.  The Slow Rush was recorded between Los Angeles and Parker’s studio in his hometown of Fremantle, Australia. The twelve tracks were recorded, produced and mixed by Parker. Fans can pre-order The Slow Rush at tameimpala.com and all major retailers.  Sign up to the mailing list for touring news. Digital pre-orders will receive the two album tracks instantly. The Slow Rush will also be printed in four heavyweight double disc vinyl formats - standard black, forest green (Limited Edition – JB HiFi), red/blue (indie retail exclusive) and splatter (Tame Impala webstore exclusive).

The Slow Rush is Parker’s deep dive into the oceans of time, conjuring the feeling of a lifetime in a lightning bolt, of major milestones whizzing by while you’re looking at your phone, it’s a paean to creation and destruction and the unending cycle of life. The album cover was created in collaboration with photographer Neil Krug and features a symbol of humanity all but swallowed whole by the surrounding environment, as though in the blink of an eye.

Thanks to the ravenous demand of fans for a transcendent live performance, Tame Impala has headlined festivals and theatres around the world. This April, Tame Impala will bring their world-renowned live show to Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on Saturday 18 AprilSydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Monday 20 AprilMelbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Thursday 23 April, Adelaide’s Entertainment Centre Arena on Saturday 25 April; before heading to Perth for a huge hometown show at RAC Arena on Tuesday 28 April.
