SUZI RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE ‘HARRY STREET’ AND ANNOUNCES ISOLATION-FUELLED DEBUT EP ‘I LIKE IT BETTER INDOORS’ - GET READY TO CRY

If she’s not at the local pub with a glass of red in hand, you will most likely find Suzi on stage singing sad songs in an optimistic and deceiving way. Brought up on the Mornington Peninsula, Suzi writes music about her struggle with mental health issues, women empowerment and partying a bit too hard as a teenager overflowing with emotions. She finds inspiration from Aussie acoustic rock queens Bec Stevens, Maddy Jane and Carla Geneve. Her songs beautifully incorporate the classic Australian rock sound with an acoustic guitar and a soft spot for cheesy love songs and late night drives.

Suzi has released her debut single ‘Harry Street’, the first song from her upcoming EP ‘I Like It Better Indoors’. Written and produced by Suzi herself, 'Harry Street’ is a song about struggling with mental health issues as an overly emotional teenager.

“This is a really special song to me and I wrote it during a really dark time in my life. I have never felt the need to be silent about struggling with mental health issues, and I feel like its really important to me that I share my experiences with the world and let other kids going through the same thing know that its ok, and they will be ok.”

“The most important thing for me is to be honest and vulnerable with my songwriting. It took me a really long time to realise that, but as soon as you put your heart and soul into something it turns out way better than trying to write a hit” “As a woman in the industry, I feel like it's really crucial to break stigmas and expectations that women deal with everyday. I want to inspire young girls and let them know they don’t have to be ‘feminine’ or ‘polite’ all the time”

Like many artists, Suzi found isolation an opportunity to challenge herself creatively. Prior to this pandemic she had never touched an interface or recording microphone, however Suzi put this single and EP together in a matter of weeks - learning as she went.

The upcoming release is a beautiful soft, emotional, acoustic collection of isolation-fuelled creation.

Harry Street is available on all major streaming platforms, and the debut EP ‘I Like It Better Indoors’ drops on April 28th.
