KEEP THE PADDOCK PRISTINE & PLAY SAFE

With only a few sleeps to go until the 8th and final Party in the Paddock, the last few preparations are underway. Organisers are stoked to announce that triple j Unearthed competition winner The Tinderboxers will making their Paddock debut on this year’s final line up, taking the main stage alongside Matt CorbyHermitudeDune RatsBroods and many, many more!

An indie-rock band from Hobart, The Tinderboxers have fast established themselves in the Tasmanian music scene. Receiving airplay on triple j, triple j Unearthed, 4ZZZ and community radio, the band gained momentum throughout 2019, scoring a string of high-profile support slots; sharing stages with the likes of Ruby FieldsLuca BrasiLime Cordiale and Slowly Slowly. The band will be embarking on their first ever headline tour this February to celebrate the release of their debut EP, with dates in Sydney, Melbourne and their hometown Hobart.

“We are beyond happy to have the chance to be a part of PITP this year. We've always wanted to play at the festival and to be able to send it off in its final year is a huge opportunity. We're incredibly heartwarmed!” said The Tinderboxers

The Tinderboxers

With thousands of punters prepped to descend on the Paddock for the festival’s final year, PITP is pumped to share these top tips on how to make your weekend, and everyone else’s, the most magical of the year.

Plan Your Adventure

With the official set times announced to the keenest beans on social media this week, punters now have the chance to plan their adventure and make sure they get the most out of their final year in the Paddock.

Keep The Paddock Pristine

Party in the Paddock is lucky enough to be surrounded by some of the most stunning natural scenery in the country. Our picture perfect island and Paddock deserves all the love and respect we can give it. Here’s what you can do to help…

#BYOBottle. We are doing our bit in the fight against single-use plastic, which means plastic bottles of water will not be available for purchase at the Paddock. Please remember to bring a reusable drink bottle OR get yourself a free reusable drink bottle from Real Mates and refill it at the free water stations on site.

Don’t litter! There will be plenty of bins on-site at the festival. All waste needs to be sorted into organics, mixed recycling or landfill, so please make sure you take a moment to ensure your piece is going to the right place. Remember, put ya tin in the recycling bin!

Reusable Cups. We’re teaming up with Bettercup to save around 26,000 single-use cups. When you first purchase a drink, grab a reusable cup for a $5 deposit. Each time you head to the bar, swap it out for a clean one. At the end of the festival, you can either keep your sexy PITP cup or return it at any bar to get your deposit back.

Trade your trash for Paddock Cash at the Recycle Centre. If we all work together, we can keep the Paddock site lovely throughout the festival. Get together with your paddock buddies and fill a bag with sorted recycling OR compostables and drop it off at the Recycle Centre (via Vibestown) and you will be rewarded with prizes, including cash for beers and food, merch and more.

We don’t want your f#*cking tent! The Paddock is a working farm, not to mention a stunning bit of scenery, so leaving your tent behind is the worst form of littering. Bring a quality tent and take it home with you - or pack it up and drop it off at one of the Tent Amnesties in the camping area.

Carpool. Get together with your mates, or make some new ones on the PITP Carpool event page on Facebook, and have a singalong all the way to the Paddock. Sharing a lift will help to reduce your carbon footprint; not to mention it’s way more fun.

This year we’re also excited to announce that all of our food vendors are on board with our sustainability mission. All food and drink packaging and utensils on site will be 100% certified compostable and can go in the organics bins around the festival site.

Please, Party Safe!

Party In The Paddock is a time for magical music, grooving under the stars, and enjoying a stunning experience with friends. To make sure that the festival is nothing but good vibes, we need to look out for each other.

It can be hot during the day and cold at night, so make sure you dress appropriately and stay hydrated.

If something doesn’t feel right, act quickly and head to a medical tent, tell security or tell a PITP crew member. Fast action can save lives, and the various staff around the festival, including Party Safe and St John’s Ambulance Service, are there to help, not judge.

Additionally, this year the Paddock was striving for the potentiality of offering Pill Testing to punters, understanding full well that a big part of the effective harm minimisation strategy behind pill testing is the education and access to healthcare professionals that it provides. Unable to get permission from our Government for the official Pill Testing trial, a compromise has been formed and this year PITP have been able to team up with The LInk Youth Health Service (The LInk); who will be located next to St. John’s at the festival, provides trained professionals (counsellors, AOD workers, general health gurus) who provide alcohol & drug information, mental health information, sexual health information, a chill space for some respite with some board games and activities, phone charging, sunscreen, sewing kits and condoms! Anyone can pop on in to The LInk for a chat, they are an all-inclusive space for everyone.

And just to reiterate, please be safe at the big, final party! Signs of a drug overdose include - fluctuating body temperature, collapse, fitting, vomiting, altered state of mind, rapid breathing, sweating, difficulty communicating, unconsciousness or simply feeling unwell. If you are concerned for yourself or anyone else, please visit onsite teams immediately for assistance. Look after yourself, your mates and all others.

Vibestown + The Blundstone Nostalgia Stage

If you weren’t already keen enough to see this stacked Australian all star cast at this year’s PITP, the recent announcement of the additional acts and a whole other stage, The Blundstone Nostalgia Stage & Vibestown program will have you packing your bags early. Vibestown, the festival within a festival, Party in the Paddock’s iconic vibes village is also back with amazing art, hilarious comedy and a multitude of market stalls.

To celebrate their last hurrah, PITP have been playing cupid behind the scenes, helping to organise some magic on-stage collaborations for their additional special guests. Additionally the festival will be bringing back The Big Top (a decadent dance tent & Paddock favourite) in full force and in celebration of Blundstone’s 150th Birthday and with their help, The Blundstone Nostalgia Stage is full steam ahead! Please welcome back these special guests & Paddock veterans for the last time!
