JESSICA TORI REVEALS INTIMATE DEBUT SINGLE: ‘SKIN AND BONES’

Sydney-based artist Jessica Tori has just released her first solo single “Skin and Bones.” Combining folk-esque acoustic guitar with gorgeously smoky and soulful vocals, the track is a confident and fully realised debut, focusing on the journey to letting go, letting people in, and finding yourself.

This ode to the slow revealing of your truth came to life during a chaotic quarantine and lockdown period,” said Jessica. “It’s a celebration that we’re all a bit messy and we’re just trying to find our own way, in our own time.”

Having toured and collaborated with high-end electronic artists like Rufus Du SolToucanMakawChores and Xillions throughout her career, this new, intimate sonic landscape for Jessica came about after seeing Laura Marling live in concert in Sydney. Feeling pure inspiration from the performance, Jessica bought herself a guitar the following day, and a new project immediately came to life.

This debut is our first taste of Jessica Tori’s fresh direction; her soulful vocals harken back to artists such as Amy Winehouse and Gabriella Cilmi, while sonically her style feels reminiscent of six-time Grammy Award-winner Kacey Musgraves
