Fresh off the back of the release of her uplifting new single ‘Pieces’, which has been met with worldwide praise and support, Navvy has just dropped an incredible 3D video clip to accommodate the track; adding an incredibly human element to the already personal ‘Pieces’. In addition to the visual, ‘Pieces’ has been given the remix treatment by prolific LA-based, Australian producer and songwriter Kito. Listen here.

With a vision of the ‘Pieces’ video involving a crowd full of people jumping and dancing to the final chorus of the song, Navvy’s creative vision was squashed when the world went into lockdown. “But I have really clever people around me, who suggested we try something totally different,” Navvy explains. “When we filmed it, we had a camera operator in the room, and then 3 people video-calling in, who were all in different parts of New York. They kind of directed me from afar, and I just sang into the abyss over and over until we got shots they were happy with. It was definitely bizarre, but I also had a blast.”

The clip was directed by the team at DOTDOT who explain the creative and 3D process. "We use game engines to create films and immersive experiences. Game engines are designed to let us manipulate 3D objects in 3D space so they are a super flexible way to make all kinds of content! We started by filming Navvy using a depth camera, which records 3D depth data and lets us construct Navvy as a 3D model. For each shot in the video we create a 3D scene, we place the 3D capture of Navvy in the scene, add lights and a virtual camera - then shoot it live, virtually!"

In addition to the clip, Navvy has enlisted Kito to lend her remixing prowess to ‘Pieces’ - the results elevating the single to new heights!  Kito has worked on projects for Beyonce (Run The World (Girls) Kito Remix), Trinidad James (Female$ Welcome), Banks (Gimme), Ruel (Real Thing), and many more. Kito’s most recent accolades include co-writes and production on Jorja Smith’s ‘The One’, Icona Pop ‘Next Mistake’ and Mabel’s ‘Low Key’.

Since its release only a couple of weeks ago ‘Pieces’ has seen placement across 22 New Music Friday’s globally across Asia Pacific, Europe/UK, Africa, the Middle East and the USA in addition to Get PoppedNew Pop Revolution on Spotify. The single featured on New Music Daily in 14 countries as well as A-List Pop, Breaking Pop and Future Hits and on Beats By Dr. Dre’s Beats of the Week playlist. BBC Radio 1 added ‘Pieces’ to their Best New Pop playlist and the single has been applauded by CLASH, Dork, When The Horn Blows, Fashion Grunge and Pilerats!

Navvy thought the rest of her life was mapped out, when, after an unexpectedly turbulent 12 months, the striking new talent emerged last summer. Just months after the sudden collapse of a four-year-relationship, Navvy released an EP titled The Breakup featuring favourite ‘If I Can’t Have You’, and by the end of the year she had released the No Hard Feelings EP featuring title track ‘No Hard Feelings’ and ‘Scared To Be Happy’.

Now in 2020, her deluge of electronic pop takes a fresh turn with ‘Pieces’, a song where Navvy reframes the previous year’s difficulties in a remarkably philosophical manner. “It was a messed up time in my life,” she acknowledges, “but now I simply feel lucky to have loved so hard that losing it felt so horrible.”
