Perto is undoubtedly Australia’s biggest (and youngest) new export. The Sydney-born producer is a certified musical prodigy, whose output is mature beyond his years but as innovative and fortuitous as one would expect from an internet-fuelled savant with the world’s musical history at his fingertips. Today he shares his new single ‘Sympathy’, featuring London based underground artist Yayoyanoh “Yayos” - listen here

“Sympathy came about a few months ago during quarantine — it was a really productive time for me and I was sitting on a bunch of empty instrumentals. I’d been listening to Yayoyanoh and his contemporaries for a minute and I feel like a lot of my newer/unreleased music is heavily inspired by them. I flicked my favourite out of the bunch to Yayo and got back the prettiest vocal ever. My friend Himera described it best — I think it was something like “god Yayos voice sounds like butter.” Perto shares.

“Within the next couple of days it was pretty much done :) It's been a nice song, I hope you like it.” he adds.

Perto’s eclectic brand of electronic production has seen him release singles and remixes streamed millions of times. ‘Sympathy’ follows his latest release ‘I Miss You’ feat. Banoffee, plus the fan favourite flip of Kim Petras’ ‘Clarity’ and not to forget his collaboration with Whipped Cream & Ravenna Golden ‘IDFC’.

He’s got a rep for performing high-energy live sets around the world to thousands of devoted fans having already toured with the likes of Alison Wonderland and Charlie XCX and played some of the biggest music Festivals around the globe including Listen Out, Grass Is Greener, Creamfields (HK).

Having already hit the studio with some of the world’s biggest titans of the industry like TimbalandBillie Eilish and Valentino Khan, and counting fellow producers Diplo and Flosstradamus as mentors and friends the guy is undeniable — and he’s just turned 18.

GQ  Magazine Australia named Perto one of the 50 most stylish men in 2019 and he’s also received major media and radio support from the likes of Zane Lowe, Jack Saunders (BBC), triple j, Fader, iD, NME and Stoney Roads to name a few.

The next year promises to be enormous for Perto, but in his words: “I don’t pay too much attention to it. I just make music.”
