HANDS LIKE HOUSES SHARE NEW SINGLE “FATALLY FRACTURED" OFF UPCOMING ALBUM
'A T M O S P H E R I C S' OUT FEBRUARY 14 VIA CIVILIANS
Canberra's Hands Like Houses continue their new era with single Fatally Fractured, the final phase of the incredible new album 'A T M O S P H E R I C S' due out 14th February 2025 via Civilians, pre-order here. The band will celebrate the release on a regional run of Australia supporting The Butterfly Effect later this month – tickets on sale now.
Thermo(sphere) kicks off with new single Fatally Fractured, a powerful track that addresses a difficult relationship. "This single is about losing the love of your life and being the one who is responsible for its demise because of a toxicity you can’t control," tells the band. "They’re the only positive thing you had, and now you’re left with your fractures and the immortal love they left behind."
The album is a 16 track double album, made of four Volumes; Tropo(sphere), Strato(sphere), Meso(sphere) and Thermo(sphere). Each volume allowed the band to build and shape themselves into a new version, led by the charismatic frontman Josh Raven. "The idea for Atmospherics came during one of the low parts of our career" say Joel Tyrrell. "Everything we knew had been swept away, and we really didn't know if we would continue on as a band so we had to dig deep together and talk about what we wanted. Some of our happiest moments have been with the band so we wanted to re-shape our future"
The concept of 'A T M O S P H E R I C S' is about learning how to fly again, on their own terms refreshed and as an independent band. "The idea of floating through the different layers of the atmosphere to see what we could all see, hear and create together painted such a nice picture for how things were flowing with the introduction of our new singer, Josh. Volume wasn't the goal, but the spark had been lit and the idea's were flowing, so we just kept adding layers to the Atmosphere. We have removed the pressure we used to place on ourselves. The songs didn't have to fit a sound for an album, it can just exist as a moment in time, for that particular layer of the atmosphere."
The band started writing songs with friends and mentors as a way to explore ways to make the project feel more like a collective. It was at this time they reconnected with Josh Raven, and although they had recorded tracks with metalcore legend Aaron Gillespie (Underoath, The Almost) on Better Before, then also The Getaway Plan for Paradise and Obey feat Kellin Quinn, it was Josh they formed a magical connection with and have now formed Hands Like Houses a-new.
Hands Likes Houses inject a fresh dose of modern stadium rock into Australia’s thriving alternative scene. The band has achieved 2 x Top 10 ARIA charting albums, over 130,000 album sales and 230 million Spotify streams. The five-piece – comprised of Josh Raven (vocals), Alexander Pearson (guitar), Joel Tyrrell (bass), Matt Cooper (guitar), Matthew Parkitny (drums) – have thrilled audiences around the world with their dynamic live performances, sharing arena stages with heavyweights such as Bring Me The Horizon and A Day To Remember at home, to performing internationally alongside legendary acts including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice Cooper and Disturbed, on Download Festival and Rock on the Range to name a few.
