After releasing her confessional and relatable debut single "Swim" just last year, earning songwriting comparisons to the likes of Tegan & Sara and Alex The Astronaut, Brisbane’s Hope D returns with new single "Second".

Remaining true to her ability to write personal and confessional lyrics that connect with listeners, this time Hope D has stepped up to the plate with a bit more punch. Now with a full band behind her, Hope shows a different side of her musical style, shocking listeners with a range of different sounds and themes.

Inspired by the stories and feelings she experiences, and the stories of those around her, her relatable and personal tales are indie-pop-rock bangers that cut straight to the heart.
New single "Second" gives you an edgy and pulsing track from this exciting artist on the cusp of something new.

Filled with driving guitars, whirling synth, angsty vocals and charm-filled lyricism, "Second" is "about a period of time in my life where I was going out partying too frequently and not being able to recall much from the night before.

It emphasises the thought of wanting to have a good time for at least a second - but I was doing this for so many 'seconds', that the time added up to what felt like years of forgotten nights"

Hope explains, "the track is frantic and almost destructive, much like what I believe those nights felt like. I wanted the chorus' to sound unapologetic and demanding. Writing the song was my way of closing that chapter of my life after I became conscious of it all and took some time to reflect."

Hope D will be embarking on her first ever headline run of shows - playing Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane in April, as well as supporting Boy & Bear in Brisbane in May.
