MELBOURNE’S LATEST QUEER ARTIST ‘MOUK.’ ANNOUNCES COLLABORATIVE SINGLE WITH PRODUCER JAMES SULLY OUT AUG 27

Mouk. and Sully’s debut single ‘Ready to Lose’, uses a combination of Indie and Electro-Pop influences to playfully explore the complete and utter heartache of mistaking lust for love. The story is told from Mouk.’s personal experiences of bursting out of an unhealthy relationship and trying to find some liberation in sleeping around but proceeding to fall for any girl that would even look at her.

“Though I have no regrets, I can see how much I’ve grown since then and I’m glad I was able to learn how to laugh at myself! Writing music like this is the best way to make the most of an embarrassing situation. ” - Mouk.

The pair were sent on a wild goose chase with the use of Sully’s recreated Tinder sample. The notification sound was recreated so perfectly that there was fear of running into some legal trouble. The team played email tag for a week and a half and almost a dozen industry professionals got involved before they finally got the “fair use” go ahead from Sarah Hamilton, Ditto Music’s Aussie Operations manager.
