EAST AV3 DELIVER NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO ‘ROSÉ + SASHIMI’
Never ones to sit idle, today Adelaide’s EAST AV3 deliver unflinching new single and video ‘rosé + sashimi’. The single comes swiftly after the release of their debut EP RUGRAT$.
Says EAST AV3 of ‘rosé + sashimi’: “The origin of the song comes the night of our first show when we had a memorable dinner meeting with our record label A&R consisting of rosé and sashimi. We wrote the record not long after, just before our show at RCC and it was a last-minute addition to the set. The song is reminiscent of our life before and after we started monetizing our music and all the extras that come with it.”
The three-piece are celebrating a packed few months during which they released their debut five-track EP and were a Top Five finalist in the triple j unearthed #DIYSUPERGROUP competition.
RUGRAT$ was filled with cheeky wit and is an homage to their roots, the perfect intro to where they have come from but also dips into the future of where they see themselves heading. The collection is a personification of the group’s high energy live set and each track from the EP is matched with a striking lyric video from Tom Cotton who has worked with the likes of Stormzy and Ed Sheeran.
The acclaim has been flowing in for Adelaide’s EAST AV3 since they burst onto the scene in 2019 with their intoxicating, bombastic brand of hip-hop and rap alongside audaciously infectious beats and production with single ‘Riding Through The Fire’. In September 2019, triple j Unearthed named EAST AV3 Unearthed Feature Artist and they played their debut live show to thousands on the main stage of Listen In in Adelaide after taking out the triple j Unearthed Listen In competition. Their debut headline show was a total sell out with hometown fans flooding to Adelaide’s Rocket Bar last December. They followed this up with single ‘Le Labo’ which, like ‘Riding Through The Fire’, gained national radio airplay.
