DEBUT SINGLE: SHERRY ENCOURAGES YOU TO ‘WORK ON YOURSELF’ WHILE STUCK IN SELF ISOLATION

“Great mood and slow burn.” - Tim Wild, Taxiride

“A real vibe.” – Happymag

Melbourne singer/songwriter Sherry is set to drop her debut single ‘Work on Yourself’ on May 1st, a rhythmic dance tune with sass, swag and ‘tude, inspired by a lonely clubgoer she met during her six-month long French exchange and her travels to Berlin. While it may feel like a strange time to put music out, Sherry believes the song’s message is very applicable in these challenging times.

“Whatever the phrase ‘work on yourself’ means to you as an individual, whether that be working on your mental and physical health, developing a skill, prioritising time for self-love and care or reflecting on your own actions instead of blaming others, I encourage you to do it while stuck in self isolation.” Sherry says.

A strong-willed and self-assured classy woman, Sherry will not let societal barriers stand in her way of achieving her musical aspirations. After appeasing the cultural expectations of her Chinese parents by graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, Sherry is now pursuing her heart’s true desires and is proud to be defying Asian stereotypes in the music scene. Influenced by artists such as Rihanna, Chris Brown, Destiny's Child and Boyz II Men, Sherry’s sound is a blend of catchy Pop and R&B melodies coupled with relatable lyricism that showcases her smooth, deep tones and powerful vocals.

Party with Sherry at 8pm on Saturday May 2nd to celebrate her Debut Single Launch on Insta and Facebook Live!
