COOL SOUNDS RELEASE ‘SLEEPERS’ SINGLE, ANNOUNCE ‘SLEEPERS’ EP FOR JULY 31

"Sleepers" is the lead single and title track off a new EP coming out from the prolific Melbourne band Cool Sounds. Recorded during lock-down in a newly built home-studio, the single and EP are a departure from the stand-alone single "Vice" which came out last month. Whilst "Vice" was slappin' cheese, "Sleepers" is a low-key, easy listening affair. But don't think "easy listening" means "easily forgotten" - you will find yourself singing the hook over and over, and joining in on the "na na nah" outro.
"Sleepers" is an ode to my buddies and loved ones who are contemplative, introspective and dreamy. Inspired by early 2000s folk (Cat Power, David Berman, Daniel Johnston) it is an acoustic celebration of non-conformists and all 'round chillers." - Dainis Lacey, writer and vocalist
The band teamed up with New Zealanders Callum Devlin and Annabel Kean, AKA Sports Team, to develop a stop-motion video with puppets on a bus journey in ever more surreal scenery. (Sports Team are behind the latest video for The Beths!).
