CHASE ZERA SHARES A STUNNING STRIPPED BACK VERSION OF HER NEW SINGLE “SAVING BUGS” WITH XAVIER DUNN

Rising singer/songwriter/producer/dancer Chase Zera today shares a stripped back version of her new single “Saving Bugs” alongside key collaborator and producer by Xavier Dunn.

It’s a sultry, enticing and bold release from an artist who keeps getting better, and ‘Saving Bugs’ is another exciting evolution from the rising Sydney name.” – Purple Sneakers

“My performances are usually high energy and have a heavy dance influence, but for a change I wanted to show a more vulnerable side of my voice and my music. When I wrote Saving Bugs, it lived as an acapella for a few months before Xavier produced it into a full & powerful pop song. I thought it would be nice to pull back all the production and give people a taste of how the song sounded  in those first few months before we finished it - really raw, intimate and vocal focused. It was really special to perform this with Xavier in his studio where so much of my music is brought to life.“

Inspired by the like of Benee and Aurora and their metaphoric laden ballads on wolves and spiders, Chase Zera explains the meaning and inspiration behind “Saving Bugs”:

“One day I was floating on a lilo in my pool and I noticed these tiny bugs floating upside down with their little legs running in the air trying to flip themselves over, so I scooped them up and put them back on the tiles to save them from drowning. I took that idea of saving bugs from drowning and thought of how it could represent the proud feeling I've had, witnessing people I love grow and become independent after moving on from something that had been burdening them. To me it was a tough love situation like, 'I'll always be here to help, I got you, but you also need to believe you're strong enough to get through this. Just keep going and don't look back. Once I tied the literal situation and the metaphor together, I was so inspired and excited and the song wrote itself in about an hour.”
