I'LL DO WHAT YOU WANT” is an upbeat, action-packed dance nugget that will undoubtedly turn heads and propel the duo into what is shaping up to be a big year. Representing the dialogue between an artist and their chosen craft, the song is an ambitious call to arms for all those wishing to express themselves creatively.

The single will be accompanied by a new music video, set for release on Tuesday 28th April.

“Since day one, all we set out to do was make music that people could get up and dance to, while also having a level of lyrical depth and meaning. ‘I’LL DO WHAT U WANT’ epitomises this idea for us,” said Tom Derickx of Kayex“As artists, we have always done whatever it takes to produce the highest quality product, whether it’s in the studio writing music, or on stage performing to 8 people, half of whom have their backs to us and are eating dinner. This song is us chanting to our ambitious selves within and just to say, enjoy yourselves and have some fun with it.”

From school friends in Perth, to studio partners in Sydney, KAYEX’s members Palassi Kailis and Tom Derickx introduce their music with a timeless, fluid and thought provoking aura, and an abundance of genres from indie pop to funky electronic.

The duo debuted their live show at Sydney’s Listen Out Festival, and in late 2018 won the triple j Unearthed competition that allowed them to perform at Sydney’s Field Day Festival on New Year’s Day 2019. They also supported SG Lewis on his national Australian tour in 2018, played for brands such as GQCorona Sunsets in Japan, Tommy HilfigerLouis Vuitton, Budweiser and Heineken. They also supported Crooked Colours on their national Australian tour in 2019.

Their debut EP “Tempus in LA” was successfully released late last year, and gained nearly 250k streams in 3 months. Drawing from inspirations such as Daft PunkKanye West and Chance the Rapper, there is no doubt that KAYEX will continue to push boundaries in 2020.
