AMONG THE RUINED DROP SECOND SINGLE "ALONE IN THIS TOMB (WE ARE BROKEN)" AHEAD OF DEBUT ALBUM RELEASE

Brisbane's Among The Ruined are back with one last trick up their sleeves before the drop of their debut album 'Despite All Odds' - available Friday June 26. Today Among The Ruined are releasing "Alone In This Tomb (We Are Broken)", the second and final single to be teased ahead of the full length. Pre-orders are live now at https://ffm.to/atr_despiteallodds?.

"Alone In This Tomb (We Are Broken)" is a statement on the youth of today. Vocalist Patrick Creamer explains that "We all deal with a lot of the same mental health issues yet we still feel very alone and isolated from each other - even when surrounded by loved ones. The track is about the lack of communication and the feelings of separation that create these walls. We also comment on personal struggles with anxiety and mental health and the subsequent impacts they can have."

The new single also comes paired with a music video that takes credit from vocalist Creamer and Daniel Ramsay of Ten Of Swords Media with the edit by Colin Jeffs (Make Them SufferDealerJustice For The Damned). The clips were filmed within 24 hours of each other, with Creamer explaining "It was the only way we could achieve our vision, we went until 2am with Alone In This Tomb, packed down, got home at 3am and were up at 6am the next morning to film Despite All Odds. We were deliriously tired but we pushed through and made it happen!"
Formed in 2015 by Patrick ‘Paddy’ Creamer, Bailey Mackelden and Caleb ‘CJ’ Jones, Among The Ruined blend heavy breakdowns of the metalcore genre with a melodic metal sound, reminiscent of bands like A Day To RememberI Prevail and Motionless in White. They have taken the stage alongside bands such as DeadlightsEarth Caller and Awaken I Am.

Now they prepare to release their debut record, ‘Despite All Odds’, into the world, set for release Friday June 26 2020. Over the course of a year, ATR did all the tracking and editing of release themselves and worked with Cory Judd (A Night In Texas) on mixing and mastering. The artwork was created by Soft Surrogate (who has worked with the likes of Memphis May FireOf Mice And MenMayday Parade and more).

‘Despite All Odds’ is the phrase that sums up the main concept of the album - exploring personal, societal, political and social content. Creamer explains that the album artwork itself is a metaphor that represents "...a man faced with the seemingly impossible task of finding his way through a maze to get to warmth before he freezes to death by the incoming frost. It is up to him as to whether he chooses to will himself through the maze, die trying or just accept defeat." Creamer also comments that "...much of the album may seem like its hopeless, sad and angry but there is also an underlying positivity to most the tracks. There are multiple messages within the lyrics, as all aspects of life can feel quite complex and are hardly ever just black and white."

"Alone In This Tomb (We Are Broken)" is available now to stream and purchase at all good online outlets and streaming platforms! Among The Ruined's album 'Despite All Odds' will be released into the world on Friday June 26 - pre-orders live now at http://ffm.to/ATR_despiteallodds.
