ADA/WARNER MUSIC AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP DEAL WITH GOODNA BASED EMCEE LISI AND HIS LABEL CASTILLE RECORDS

ADA/Warner Music Australia announced today a new partnership with New Zealand-born and Goodna-based rapper Lisi and his Samoan-owned record label Castille Records

At only 20 years of age, Lisi has fast become one of the best new names in Australia rap, along with his community focused record-label, Castille Records, based in Goodna in Ipswich, QLD. The young emcee is known for letting his music speak for itself, while using his platform to motivate and inspire youth who come from places where opportunity seems limited.

Dan Rosen, President of Warner Music Australia, comments: “Lisi is at the forefront of the local hip hop scene and this partnership represents our commitment to work with the very best in Australian rap music. We are super excited about what the future holds for him and the Castille record label and are thrilled to welcome them to the WMA and ADA family!”

Ben Ralph, General Manager of ADA Australia, adds: “I’m beyond excited to be working with Lisi and Castille Records. Lisi’s music is world class and his sense of community is inspiring. We are honoured to be part of his vision for Castille Records.”

Lisi notes: “We have started this label to help build up what is not yet common in Ipswich and Brisbane. We have opened a door for all the hidden talent within the streets of our city to reach for an opportunity that can change their lives and better their communities. Castille Records is here to not just help ourselves, but to help our people as well.”

In a scene dominated by bravado and chest-puffery, Lisi offers a relatable and grounded approach to rap. Since debuting with his now ARIA Gold certified single, “Say Less,” in 2019, Lisi has become one of the most omnipresent local forces in hip-hop, accumulating more than 30 million streams and more 10 million YouTube views. Lisi’s music with its focus on intricate storytelling and personal lyricism delves into everyday life in his hometown known as the 4300 and the real issues faced by those from his community. His 2020 EP, “Average Man,” was widely-praised for its contemporary take on classic hip-hop sonics and helped earn him an intergenerational and international fanbase.
