JUICE WEBSTER SHARES NEW SINGLE ‘WANNA BE HELD’ + LIVE VIDEO SHOT AT THE TOTE

++ ANNOUNCES EP MORE THAN REACTION

Today, Melbourne songwriter Juice Webster shares her new single 'Wanna Be Held'. A tender and affecting alt-rock track that builds towards its arresting finale, 'Wanna Be Held' is emotionally rich and subtlety commanding, with Juice's delicate vocals and gentle harmonies at the forefront. The release coincides with the announcement of Juice's second EP More Than Reaction, also featuring last year's hazy single 'Let The Dog Out'.

On the single, Juice explains; 'I wrote 'Wanna Be Held' during a time when I was feeling really unsettled and reactive. I felt like my mind was constantly jumping between a hundred different things that I was struggling to make sense of, and all I was doing was reacting to what was happening around me. I really envied those with a one-track mind and felt such a desire to just lock into something and focus, but I couldn’t seem to get there. The idea of being held in one place for a minute, by someone who I find comfort in, was very appealing and just about the only thing I could think of that would chill me out and slow me down. I wasn’t looking for anything to change, because when I really thought about it, there wasn’t anything that I wanted to be different. I just needed to be held still for a minute.'

'Wanna Be Held' arrives alongside a masterful official live video. Shot recently in Melbourne at The Tote, the video is a stunning rendition of the track which beautifully captures Juice and her band within the walls of an iconic bandroom.

It’s not often an artist can explain your own feelings back to you as clearly as Juice Webster does. Despite considering herself to be a relatively new artist, Juice’s songwriting holds an affecting quality, maturity and depth which delivers wisdom beyond her years. Her lyrics linger. Her harmonies hold weight. And the moods she casts through the moments she recounts permeate their way through the very core of its listener.

Often found curled up with her guitar in bed, on the couch or in any other comfortable space within her home, Juice often writes from a place that helps her find meaning in the world around her. After being brought up on a healthy diet of artists such as Nick Cave, Aimee Mann, Elliott Smith and The Cranberries, it’s no wonder that Juice’s own brand of revealing alt-folk is emotionally and lyrically driven.

Arriving fully formed in late 2019 with the independent release of her debut EP, You Who Was Myself, Juice channelled her energy in connecting to her local community of supporters, friends, fans and family. She began performing intimate shows in Melbourne’s local bars and cafes, clubs and gardens, with support growing inch by inch, at every step and stage. Not only did local radio, blogs, other artists and all those who encountered her refreshing take on an age old genre adore her music, they began sharing it to all of those around them.
