"The band moulds classic post-punk sensibilities and early blues incarnations with an aggressive undertow that veers on the unexpected." - HAPPY MAG

"Built on commanding vocals, thrashy guitars and dynamic instrumental shifts, the Sydney-based four-piece have definitely developed their own rowdy recipe for success." - Deafen County

“These boys can do it all.” - Monster Children

"More distinct rock n rumble from Flight To Dubai. They're on their own wave in the local scene at the moment and worth cheering for."
Dave Ruby Howe, triple j Unearthed

Sydney 4-piece, Flight To Dubai share new single ‘Sparse Space’ and announce headline shows in Sydney and Wollongong. Redefining the proto-punk & 70s rock-n-roll formula, ‘Sparse Space’, which premiered on triple j Unearthed last night, is the 3rd single to be lifted from the band's forthcoming seven-track EP, Strife out October 16 via the bands own independent label Hail Damage Records.

Lyrically ‘Sparse Space’ encapsulates a whirlwind of reanimated and dissociated uncertainty. “I wrote 'Sparse Space' at the back of the N50 nightrider bus on a late trip home from the city.” says vocalist Atlas Abell, “The song follows the direct repercussions of an unsuccessful Hail Mary during a slowly fading relationship; my mental state mirrored the accelerated decrepitude of my love life.”

The 4-piece is known for their passionate and frantic live performance, having played countless headline shows and supported the likes of Lime Cordiale, The Chats, Pist Idiots, Gooch Palms, The Pinheads, A. Swayze and the Ghosts and Crocodylus.

Exploring love in an unadulterated fashion, reeling between extreme euphoria and true despair, the EP captures the familiar spirit of Flight To Dubai. Inspired by The Saints, New York Dolls, Devo with a modern shared alliance to Australian acts Royal Headache and Tyrannamen.

The seven-track EP, featuring singles ‘Crycentennial Man’ and ‘Firefighter Lady’, was recorded at Golden Retriever Studios, produced by Simon Berckelman (Philadelphia Grand Jury).
