BOWLOS DROP DEBUT SINGLE ‘SUNDAY MORNING’

Indie rock newcomers and certifiable best friends, Bowlos drop their debut single ‘Sunday Morning’. The track, an airy burst of longing, love and distance twists between genres of punk and folk as the trio dance through their personal lyrics, catchy progressions and fun kicks.

Forming in 2019, Bowlos consists of Bill Burns (Vocals/Acoustic), Ryo Hatfield (Electric/Vocals) and Ben Sparks (Bass). The trio, the result of childhood friendships and chance encounters have gigged through some of Naarm/Melbourne’s favourite venues, including their own sold-out headline show ‘A Night on the Green’ at the beginning of 2021 at The Workers Club. The band have well and truly established a bright presence in the local live scene. Growing up in Naarm/Melbourne’s West, Bowlos describe themselves as “listeners” drawing influence from the west’s bustling indie scene, life experience and friendship. 

On the track, singer/guitarist Bill says “Usually we write about our experiences in the world, the people we meet, and the stories we share and are shaped by. Take Sunday Morning, that song whilst being about missing someone you love is about looking into the experiences you hear about and wanting to be more.” Sonically, the band look to influences from a collection of musicians including Blur, Courtney Barnett, Joy Division, Stella Donnelly and DMA’s

Sunday Morning’ is just the beginning for Bowlos, their debut EP expected for delivery before the year's end. Bowlos are also set to boogie at their single launch for ‘Sunday Morning’ at The Retreat Hotel on Wednesday 21st July. TICKETS
